I have such fond memories of attending my first ballet class, and growing up one of my favourite ballets was The Nutcracker. I had a treasured music box and would spend hours staring at the pretty ballerina twirling in a mini mirror to Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake suite. For one of my birthdays, my mum baked a Dolly Varden style cake, you know the cakes with a doll wearing a flowing dress of cake with pretty piped icing? It made such a big impression on me.
Given these fond memories, I know I’d have loved a ballet-themed party to celebrate a birthday. Here are five ideas for throwing your own ballet party…
