14 May Buy a muffin, help brighten a sick child’s day
This May, families can help bring a little more joy to seriously ill children in hospital — simply by buying a muffin.
Muffin Break has partnered with Starlight Children’s Foundation for a special fundraising campaign supporting sick kids and their families across Australia.
From 1–31 May 2026, customers can buy a specially created Starlight Muffin at their local Muffin Break, with $1 from every muffin sold donated to Starlight. Customers can also make a $2 donation in-store.
The goal is to raise $50,000 to help support Starlight’s hospital programs, which bring play, fun, entertainment and moments of happiness to children facing serious illness.
Starlight is also calling on Australians to help raise $1.95 million by 30 June as part of its annual appeal, launching on Starlight Day, Tuesday 19 May.
For families already popping in for a coffee, treat or after-school snack, this is an easy way to do something kind.
As Muffin Break’s Head of Brand, Kathryn Clift, says, the campaign is about “creating moments of joy” and helping Starlight bring smiles and positivity to children and families during very difficult times.
Matt Geraghty, national partnerships manager at Starlight Children’s Foundation, says every muffin and every donation helps.
“Every donation and every Starlight Muffin sold helps bring more smiles to sick kids,” he says.
