Want to give your child’s party goodie bags that special handmade touch? Try some of these fun and bright DIY decoration ideas.

1. A brightly patterned paper is folded over the top of the bag and then two holes are punched through the paper and the bag. An orange twine is used to tie through the holes.

2. Some leftover pom-pom fringe is used in three colours to decorate the top portion of the bag. We cut each piece of fringe to the width of the bag and then applied with hot glue.

3. A piece of patterned paper is cut to the dimension of the front of the bag and then cut further into four angled pieces. Glue on the four pieces and then add a few coloured pom-poms with hot glue to the front.

4. Three fringes are made out of tissue paper and then glued onto the bag to create a three-tiered effect. We used three strips of tissue paper for each tier and made the fringe cuts before gluing onto the bag.

5. Fabric flowers from the craft store are glued with dabs of hot glue to decorate the front of the bag. For a further pop of colour we then added a few snips of yellow crepe paper.

6. Brightly coloured craft paints are used to make gestural marks on the white paper bag with a wide brush.
