18 Aug Emmy’s 2nd Birthday Party
Emmy’s favourite food is strawberries, so we threw her a vintage strawberry garden party for her second birthday.
Strawberries featured in most of the food: the tiered sponge cake, strawberry macaroons, strawberry tarts, chocolate and strawberry éclairs, strawberry muffins, strawberry jam fancies and strawberry milk.
The party was held at Apples & Jam in South Melbourne. Emmy wore a gorgeous gingham dress by Grace & Koh and her signature big bow by Branche Kids.
The venue was decorated with an Emmy name banner, bunting and a ribbon garland at the front of the sweets table. Furniture was hired from the Mini Party People. The Baby Brentwood chairs in pale pink, white and pale blue were so sweet!
Family and some close friends were invited and we all enjoyed a sweet high tea. Burnt Butter Cakes supplied all the sweets and made the amazing tiered sponge cake with fresh jam and cream. The venue, Apples & Jam, did the savoury food catering.
The kids enjoyed lunchboxes filled with fairy bread, popcorn, fruit kebabs and homemade organic strawberry muffins. Each table setting had a floral meringue placed on the centre of the kids’ party plates.
Emmy enjoyed dancing with her cousins and friends to Hey Dee Ho, who did a live performance. Jen from Love Jk designed the stationery, which included the invitations, banner, drink bottle and food labels and lunchboxes. She also helped me style the event.
