Join the Third Annual Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee – Register Your Kids Now!

Calling all parents and carers! Your kids can showcase their word skills in the prestigious Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee, a national competition for students in Years 3-8. Organized by News Corp Australia’s kidsnews.com.au, this online event has seen over 80,000 students participate in the past two years, with a whopping 60,000-word wizards competing in 2022 alone.

Last year’s winners were rewarded with a special trip to Canberra to meet Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. This year’s champions will also get to visit the nation’s capital, tour Parliament House, and receive an iPad, a $250 HarperCollins book pack, and a $1000 voucher for their school to buy books, technology, and equipment.

Kidsnews.com.au, which provides age-appropriate news content, aims to help students succeed by offering a safe digital environment for learning. The master word list might include challenging words, but it’s a fun and engaging way for kids to improve their English language skills for life.

The Spelling Bee has three competition levels (Green: Years 3-4; Orange: Years 5-6; Red: Years 7-8), with students receiving 30 randomly generated words from their level’s word list. They have 25 seconds to type each answer, and the students with the most correct answers in the fastest time advance to the finals.

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity! Registrations open from Monday, July 24 to Friday, August 18, at spelling-bee.com.au. State and territory finals will be held from August 28 to September 1, and the national finals will be conducted online on September 6 to 7. The national winners will be announced on Wednesday, September 15.
