08 Oct Young musicians can enter international competition from home
Young Australian musicians and singers have the chance to take part in an international music competition — without having to travel overseas.
The 3rd ISAC International Junior Music Competition 2027, organised by Ise-Shima Art Company in Japan, is open to children and teenagers aged 3–17 from around the world.
Entrants can perform on any instrument, including traditional instruments, or enter as a solo singer. They choose one piece and submit a single, continuous video recording lasting between 30 seconds and 10 minutes.
A smartphone recording can be used, provided the picture and sound are clear.
Applications must be submitted by a parent or guardian, or by a teacher who has permission from the child’s parent or guardian.
Entry dates and fees
Entries close 31 January 2027 at 11.59pm GMT.
The entry fee is JPY 5,000 (about A$45) per performance until 17 January, increasing to JPY 7,000 (about A$64) from 18–31 January. Entrants can also pay an additional JPY 3,000 (about A$27) for written feedback from the jury.
Australian dollar amounts are approximate and will vary with exchange rates and any payment or currency-conversion fees.
Results are expected at the end of March 2027.
Parents interested in entering their child should read the full competition information, eligibility requirements, entry conditions, fees and rules on the organiser’s website before applying and make their own decision about whether the competition is suitable for their child. CHILDmags is sharing this opportunity for readers’ information and is not involved in organising, administering or judging the competition.
