This book series provides a window into lifestyles and traditions of children living in New Zealand and Canada over a 12 month period. Follow the change in seasons in each county and learn about their native history. This book series is illustrated with cute characters and its fun to discover Canadian local cuisines and all the fun places to visit in New Zealand like Hobbiton.
Around Australia With Jacky Winter by Australian Artists + Illustrators
Aussie artists, illustrators and graphic designers from Jacky Winter, come together to celebrate all things Aussie in this kids’ (…and adult) activity book.
Colour in the Quokkas, design a new roof for the Sydney Opera House, and draw your own mural on a wall in Melbourne, plus much more! It’s a great snapshot of all Australia’s finest travel icons. Did I mention there was a Quokka in it?!
Hello NY! An Illustrated Love Letter To The Five Boroughs by Julia Rothman
A personal fave from my home book collection probably aimed at adults but kids would totally love this. I’m a big fan of Julia Rothman’s illustrated works and having been to New York myself, I just get a buzz from seeing all my fond New York memories in illustrated form; from all the cool street food, to road signs, buildings and shops. I recommend this book even if you haven’t been to New York, and no, I did not get to see that troll museum unfortunately!
My Awesome Sydney Adventure: A Travel Journal For Kids by Eliza McCann + Illustrated by Tinne Cornelissen
Author Eliza was inspired to create a travel book series for kids when she was on holidays and witnessed a child with their head in an iPad, instead of enjoying their family holiday. This kids’ travel book series aims to encourage little jet-setters to learn, seek and document their travels and in turn, learn about the places around them.
Atlas of Miniature Adventures by Emily Hawkins + Illustrated by Lucy Letherland
When I was a kid, I always enjoyed the travel books where each page was like a ‘spot it’ of facts and full of quirky info. The Atlas of Miniature Adventures would of been a fave for me – and who doesn’t love all things miniature?! This book is dedicated to all the miniature things in the world. I’m putting that tiny snow globe museum on my travel bucket list for sure!
Hello Sydney! By Megan Mckean
You know what they always say? Its fun to be a tourist in your own city or town, and this colourful ode to Sydney is a treasure in book form. Each page is like a work of art that gives you a snapshot of some of Sydney’s most famous sites and locations.
This is How We Do it: One Day in the Lives of Seven Kids from Around the World by Matt Lamothe
A stunning illustrated book that gives kids a glimpse into the lives of how other children around the world live daily. This is How We Do It, is a ‘day in the life’ of a child living in Japan, Uganda, Russia, Iran, Peru, India and Italy. From the time each kid wakes up until the time they fall asleep. See the uniqueness of their homes, what they eat and their schooling lives.
