Coles Launches SecondBite Christmas Appeal to Feed Aussies in Need

Here’s a very simple way to help struggling families with a Coles Secondbite donation card

Support Aussies with Every $2 Donation
Coles has kicked off its annual Christmas Appeal to support SecondBite, Australia’s top free food rescue organisation, in its mission to feed vulnerable Australians. From now until Christmas Eve, customers can donate $2 in-store to provide up to ten meals for charity partners such as soup vans, homeless shelters, and women’s refuges.

Festive Purchases That Give Back
Customers can also contribute by purchasing special holiday products. Remedy’s limited-edition Pavlova or Merry Cherry Kombucha will donate 20 cents per 330ml bottle sold, both in-store and online. DASH Water will match this donation for every four-pack sold, and Cadbury Australia will generously provide the equivalent of one million meals for the Appeal.

Toast to the Cause at Coles Liquor
Coles Liquor stores are joining the effort, accepting donations at Liquorland, First Choice Liquor Market, and Vintage Cellars locations. Additionally, Local Brewing Co.’s Surplus Citrus Hazy Pale will contribute 40 cents per four-pack sold at participating stores.

Fighting Hunger While Reducing Food Waste
This year’s Appeal has a dual mission: addressing food insecurity while promoting sustainability. Products like DASH Water, made from “wonky” fruit, and Local Brewing Co.’s beer, crafted with surplus Coles Brand bread, help reduce food waste while raising funds.

A Legacy of Giving
SecondBite, founded almost 20 years ago, supports over 1,000 local community partners, distributing nutritious food to those in need. Coles has been a proud partner for more than 13 years, donating over 270 million meals since 2011. Last year alone, Coles stores provided over 18,200 tonnes of surplus food to SecondBite.

Making a Real Difference This Christmas
SecondBite CEO Daniel Moorfield highlighted the importance of the campaign:
“Christmas can be a challenging time for many Aussies. The Coles SecondBite Christmas Appeal allows us to meet increased demand and provide ongoing food relief. Your support makes a genuine difference to families during the holiday season and beyond.”

Join the Appeal and Help Provide 5 Million Meals
Coles Chief Commercial and Sustainability Officer Anna Croft encouraged customers to participate:
“With the help of our customers and partners like Cadbury, Remedy, DASH Water, and Local Brewing Co., we aim to provide over five million meals this Christmas. Together, we can support local communities when they need it most.”

Support the Coles SecondBite Christmas Appeal in-store or online to help feed Australians in need this festive season.
