29 Aug Aussie baby names from Generation Alpha to Generation Beta
For almost a decade, McCrindle has analysed the top baby names nationwide.
Their report for 2024 makes really interesting reading for those who follow the trends or those who just want to make sure their little bundle of joy has his or her own unique name in a class of lots of Noahs and Olivias. You can also find some valuable information and insights about names that are trending and those that are falling out of fashion.
Every year, each state and territory publishes the top names given to babies in the previous year, and after collating the data, McCrindle identifies the national trends. Analysing baby names uncovers fascinating insights about society, with naming trends often becoming generational markers for those born within a certain time frame. This year is particularly special as it will round out Generation Alpha (born 2010-2024), and from 2025, we will welcome a whole new generation in Generation Beta (born 2025-2039).
