General Comments: There is a reason more parents choose to send their children to Haileybury than any other school in Australia. As one of the Asia-Pacific region’s leading independent schools, Haileybury provides an environment in which every student matters every day.
With campuses in Keysborough, Brighton, Berwick, Melbourne, China and Darwin, Haileybury is acclaimed for outstanding academic results, small class sizes, extensive co-curricular choices and state of-the-art facilities. The school achieves exceptional national testing and VCE results, placing it among Australia’s leading schools. It has high expectations of students and provides the support they need to excel.
In 2020 Haileybury was named Non-Government Primary School of the Year and Deputy Principal (Junior School), Mr Grenville Green was named Non-Government Primary School Principal of the Year at the Australian Education Awards.
Haileybury’s Parallel Education Model means students learn together until the end of Year 4, then attend separate schools on the same campus from Years 5 to 12. This approach recognises the diverse educational needs of girls and boys. While girls and boys benefit from co-education early on, single gender classes in the middle and senior years achieve better academic outcomes.
Haileybury offers an exciting and enriching curriculum and experience for all students. Our Academic programs are enhanced by Haileybury’s commitment to a strong Social Education program. We aspire to a lifetime love of learning and the complete development of a person.
At Haileybury, we develop the core literacy and numeracy skills through the use of explicit, direct instructional learning in the Junior Years. In the Middle Years, a combination of explicit instruction and student-centred learning is used. An exciting Year 9 program develops independence and resilience. The three-year VCE in the Senior Years, coupled with one of the widest ranges of subject choice, ensures that there are programs to suit all students’ interests and abilities.
